Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Removal & Remediation:

The most common way that an underground storage tank (UST) can leak is that if the UST is made of steel which is likely to corrode when exposed to groundwater for a period of time.  Inadequate installation and faulty maintenance can also cause USTs to leak.  Leaking underground storage tanks (LUSTs) can present a hidden risk to properties given that the tanks are often buried and hard to access.  The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) meticulously monitors USTs die to the fact that LUSTs can introduce a contaminant into the groundwater supply that many people in the United States rely on for drinking water.

Fields Environmental is dedicated in providing LUST removal services, and analytical testing to determine the extent of soil and groundwater contamination.  Our HAZWOPER certified team has the technical knowledge to perform comprehensive project management including the ability to categorize (RCRA) and properly dispose of residual wastes and contaminated media.
